Faculty Strike Update
The Ontario government is introducing legislation to end the strike at Ontario colleges. Below is information about traditional apprenticeship program. Please continue to monitor the College website and your emails for updates.
For apprentices who were attending trade school prior to the labour disruption:
Day release apprentices: classes will resume Tuesday November 21st, 2017, you will continue to attend on your regularly scheduled day. Monday Day Release apprentices will begin Monday November 27th. Apprentices will receive further information on their updated class end date by email.
Block release apprentices: Conestoga will contact apprentices by email to provide an update about the completion of their level.
Employment Insurance: Apprentices should contact the EI Contact Centre 1-800-206-7218 for any questions about their EI benefits.
For apprentices registered/confirmed to attend a delayed intake of trade school:
Conestoga will contact apprentices by email to communicate their revised start and end dates.
If a registered/confirmed apprentice is unable to attend a rescheduled block intake, they should contact the email@example.com or 519-748-5220 ext. 3244 as soon as possible.
Conestoga College is a Training Delivery Agent (TDA) for the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) for many apprenticeship programs in the industrial, construction, motive power and service sectors.
Conestoga offers apprenticeship training in both day release and block training at our various campuses.
Offer of Classroom Training
In order to receive an
Offer of Classroom Training from the MAESD you must have an employer sponsor and be signed on as an apprentice with the government.
An apprentice in Ontario must also be a member in good standing throughout their entire apprenticeship with the Ontario College of Trades.

Register for Trade School
- You must have your:
- MAESD Offer of Classroom Training Letter
- MAESD Client ID Number (Located on your Offer of Classroom Training)
- Class Number
- Conestoga Student Number (Located on previous Payment Receipts or Timetables, Student Cards)
- Register and pay for your seat online
- From Student Portal:
- Select Financial tab
- Apprenticeship Registration
